(ex-professora primária), apesar de ainda exercerem um modelo herdado de educação às vezes duramente repressivo, sabiam também cultivar a vida cotidiana, especialmente os encontros ao redor da mesa, como espaço de compartilhar saber. Nesta foto aparece um casal chegado havia pouco do Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Milazzo, então professor de português e Mary Thomson, falecida muito cedo em acidente, adorada pela cidade ser aí a primeira professora de jardim-de-infância que realmente entendia de crianças! O papel das meninas da foto também merece comentários, porém ultrapassam os propósitos do momento.

(former basic school teacher), though still exerting an inherited, often hardly repressive education model, also knew how to cultivate
everyday life, especially the time around the meals table, as a knowledge sharing place. In this picture is also a couple shortly arrived from Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Milazzo, then a Portuguese teacher, and Mary Thomson, who died quite young in an accident, absolutely loved by the city for being there the first kindergarten teacher to have understanding about and for children! The role of the girls in the picture is also worth commenting, but this would go
beyond our present aims.

| 1968-70 Turvo River banks, in the border of a virgin araucaria forest plot. In this precise place, Ralf Rickli remembers to have thought widely for the first time about many themes that play an important role in Co-Living Philosophy and Education: community rather than society living,
the importance of round forms,
refining culture by learning from nature with the heart, optimization of ethics through a minimalistic approach. This picture was taken in 1992,
when Ralf was showing the region to his children Gunnar Natanael (then 10) and Ana Estrella Libertad (then 8).

| Easter 1979 St.George River, near Ponta Grossa, Parana’ State. | Nesta barraca (a maior), passando a noite com um grupo de jovens que acabava de conhecer na beira do rio, Ralf diz ter desempenhado o papel de um agente de Educação Convivial pela primeira vez. Parte disso foi chamar a atenção daqueles jovens para as palavras de 1 Coríntios 13 no Novo Testamento que eles mesmo havia trazido – junto com seus ‘baseados’!
Estas duas fotos têm caráter sobretudo simbólico: nenhuma delas foi tirada no local preciso daqueles acontecimentos.

em busca de partilha no convívio informal – mas também de aconselhamento em
questões pessoais.
